About Us
Governors
Welcome to our Governors’ section
There are 3 core functions to school governance:
-
Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
-
Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the academy and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
-
Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
The Governing Body monitors teaching and learning, achievement, finances, staffing, premises and safety to ensure that everything within the academy creates an environment where the children in our care can achieve the best possible education. We carry out termly visits in our link governor capacity and meet termly, as a local governing body working closely with the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team to keep up the pressure on academy improvement, be a true friend to the academy, in good and bad times, offering support and advice, to help the academy to be responsive to the needs of parents and the community and to make the academy more accountable for what it does and see that its money is well spent.
It is and always has been our belief that St Paul’s Church of England Academy can be an Outstanding academy and we will continue to work towards this end.
