Operation Bollypop! Traffic Control
We have written this piece as we have a growing concern that the roads outside our school are unsafe. It has come to our attention that many drivers are parking illegally where children and their carers are trying to cross the road to enter our school in the morning and afternoons. Previously, disabled and young children have been hit by cars around our school and we are worried that eventually, unless action is taken, someone could be seriously injured or even killed.
The school and the council have both advised us to report any incidents to the police via their Operation Crackdown website. We stand outside of our school wearing high-vis jackets in the mornings and take pictures of any illegal parking or dangerous driving. Our attempts to stop this from happening seem to have had some impact but the overall situation is still shockingly bad. Unfortunately, our group of seven children has declined to just two and we do not always have parent helpers available, therefore we are in need of your assistance.
If you are able to help by offering to assist us from 8.30am until 8.50am please contact Mrs Lewis at the school.
Please help us to make our school a better and safer place to be.
